He is currently EC member of IIT Delhi Alumni Association and also served as Past- Joint Secretary and Treasurer of IIT Delhi Alumni Association.

Joined NTPC in 1988 and have total experience of around 32 years in various aspects of Power Plant Engineering, Operation and Maintenance, E.R.P, Condition Monitoring of power plant machinery, Business Excellence, Environment etc.

Dr. Vijay Kumar Tiwari was born on 14 April 1980 in Bhargava Kodra, a small village in Salempur block of Deoria district of Purvanchal. He completed his elementary education from the council school. Matriculation and secondary education in year 1994 and 1996 respectively from local Government school. He has completed his bachlors and masters in commerce Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur in 1999 and 2001 respectively. He secured first position in the university in Master’s program. He has done PhD in 2005 from Jaunpur Vishwavidyalaya, Jaunpur and qualified UGC NET. He worked as Assistant Professor Commerce from 2002 to 2008 (in Islamia College of Commerce Gorakhpur and in Government Post Graduate College, Vilaspur Rampur from 2008 to 2019. Presently he is working as Principal at Government College Sukrauli Kushinagar from 2019.
